Taking part in Research
There are can be many reasons why patients are invited to take part in a research project. Interventional studies may involve medical products, such as drugs or devices; procedures; or changes to participants' behaviour, for example, diet. Taking part in research may allow you to have access to the latest drugs or treatment as part of your care.
You may also be invited to take part in a research project using quantitative methods for data collection including observations or visual analysis. All research is extremely valuable and plays an important role in discovering new treatments, and making sure that existing treatments are being used in the best possible way.
