Thanks to the kindness of Bluewater's team, our DVH community allotment is now bursting with life! In celebration of Bluewater's 25th birthday, they generously donated a variety of plants and flowers, igniting our green journey.
With the help of volunteers, plus Beverly Meekings from Gavin Jones and members of Dartford Healthy Living Centre's gardening club, we planted tomatoes, strawberries, cucumbers, and more. Cllr Mrs. Carol Gale, a passionate gardener, also lent a hand, supported by funding from Dartford Borough Council's Green Fund.
As we eagerly await our first harvest later this summer, we invite staff to become Green Champions, ensuring our allotment thrives. Plus, we're thrilled to adorn our space with hanging baskets from Spadework, a local Kent charity that provides services for adults with learning and other disabilities. The baskets addedd an extra touch of beauty.
Join us in nurturing our allotment and cultivating a greener, brighter future for all! Reach out to Moira Mitchell at moira.mitchell4@nhs.net to get involved.
