Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust (DGT) is delighted to reveal that we have been awarded the Veteran Aware Accreditation.
This means that we have demonstrated our commitment to eight core manifesto standards, which are:
- The Trust understands and is compliant with the Armed Forces Covenant
- The Trust has a clearly designated Veterans’ Champion Dyad
- The Trust supports the UK Armed Forces as an employer
- Staff at the Trust are trained and educated in the needs of veterans
- The Trust has established links to appropriate nearby veteran services
- The Trust identifies veterans to ensure they receive appropriate care
- The Trust will refer veterans to other services as appropriate
- The Trust raises awareness of veterans
Chief Strategy and Transformation Officer, Alexandra Bode-Tunji said: “This accreditation reflects our commitment to ensuring that military personnel, veterans, and their families receive the care and treatment they deserve without any disadvantages. We also acknowledge the significant contributions that serving personnel, reservists, veterans, and military families bring to our workforce. Huge congratulations to our partners, staff, local councillor and everyone involved for their hard work in achieving this recognition.”
