We are so thrilled to announce that our 'Emergency Department Familiarisation Visits' project has won in the Critical and Emergency Care Nursing category at this year's Nursing Times Awards.
The project, led by Cat Siggery, Learning Disabilities Liaison Nurse, and Colette Chapman, Emergency Department Matron, has been recognised for its outstanding work in improving access to healthcare for people with learning disabilities.
The judges said the project demonstrates a profound commitment to placing patients at the heart of care, targeting individuals who often fear hospital visits, whether for emergencies or appointments. They also said the team behind it showed undeniable passion and dedication. You can learn more about the project here.
Congratulations also to DGT’s Children’s Hospital At Home Team (CHAHT), which was shortlisted for its remarkable contributions to Nursing in the Community.
Thank you to everyone involved in these fantastic projects. Your dedication continues to transform patient care and help us on our journey to outstanding.
