We are pleased to confirm that from Monday 2 December 2024, Bexley residents will be able to be seen and treated at our new Hyper-Acute Stroke Unit (HASU) at Darent Valley Hospital.

Thanks to careful planning, we know that most Bexley residents will have equal or better travel times compared to previous arrangements, bringing the right care to the right place at the right time. This improvement enables patients to access specialised stroke care more quickly, significantly boosting their chances of recovery and survival. Watch our Chief Medical Officer, Dr Tom Clark, talk about this in further detail.

The new pathway includes rapid assessment, immediate CT scans, and life-saving clot-busting treatments, followed by comprehensive therapy services all under one roof.

We are delighted to be able to offer this fantastic new facility to a wider community of patients.
