Despite a tough road, England showcased immense passion and determination and finished the tournament in 5th place, proving that the future of women's amputee football is brighter than ever.

Huge congratulations to Sarah Haskins, our Head of Blood Transfusion, who represented England in Colombia. Sarah said: "To have been a part of the very first Women’s Amputee Football World Cup in Colombia has been an incredible experience. Having only started playing in June 2024, I feel very proud of all that I achieved and England came away in 5th place – what a great result! As a child, born with limb differences, I never ever thought that I would play sport, let alone at an international level, but it just goes to show that, with hard work and determination, you can achieve incredible things. This weekend I received my first International Cap for England and I couldn’t be prouder."

What an inspiring achievement - well done, Sarah!
