The Clinical Education team attended the Student Nursing Times Awards on Friday after successfully being shortlisted and presented to the judges for the category of the Student Placement of the Year, Hospital Category. This nomination was for the Hub and Spoke placement design which was rolled out across all student placements last year, with the introduction of placement handbooks in every area. We were also nominated for the successful Corporate Leadership Spoke experience which our 3rd year Adult Nurse management students attend with our senior leadership teams and other services across the hospital, giving them a varied clinical placement experience.

The judging was intense and we successfully made it to being a finalist. We unfortunately did not win this award but it is a great achievement to get this far in the competition. Thank you to Julia Walsh for supporting with the judges presentation and for the whole of the Education Team and their continued commitment to support providing the best learning environments. Well done all and thank you to all clinical placement areas who support student nurse placements.
