Dr Cecaro is a Consultant Cardiologist with a special interest in heart failure, cardiomyopathies, regenerative medicine and advanced imaging. He currently works at Queen Mary’s Hospital, Sidcup and Darent Valley Hospital, Dartford where he is the clinical lead for heart failure.
He trained in medicine at Bologna University, Italy, where he graduated with distinction (110/110 summa cum laude).
Dr Cecaro undertook his specialist training in Ferrara, Italy, under Prof. Roberto Ferrari, past president of the European Society of Cardiology, working in one of the largest centre for the diagnosis and treatment of heart failure and cardiomyopathy in Italy.
In 2010 he was awarded a European Society of Cardiology Research Grant.
He came to the UK in 2011 to complete his Ph.D. in pathophysiology of heart failure under the special European Doctor program “Doctor Europaeus”.

- Specialist Registrar at National Pulmonary Hypertension Centre, Hammersmith Hospital, London, from October 2012 to October 2013.
- Cardiomyopathy Clinical Fellow, Heart Hospital, University College London Hospitals (National referral centre for heart muscle disease), NHS Trust, London, from October 2013 to September 2014.
Dr Cecaro is a member of the European Society of Cardiology Working Group on Myocardial and Pericardial Diseases and Cardiovascular Regenerative and Reparative Medicine
Dr Cecaro is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (London). He is also a Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine (London) and of the Italian Surgical Echocardiography Society. He is member of more than 20 National and International Cardiac Societies and Associations.
