Blood tests for children 11 and under

Please complete form below to request a blood test appointment for your child.  Once your form is submitted please allow 3 working days for a response. Please do not contact us until it has been at least 3 working days.

Blood tests at Darent Valley Hospital must be booked. The bookable service is ONLY for requests made by a Darent Valley Hospital consultant, clinician, GP or department for children under 11. 

The paper form from your GP must be the original as photocopies are not accepted.

For children 12 and over:
GP blood tests are carried out at Gravesham Community Hospital for children over 12, however, ANY child with a consultant request MUST come to Darent Valley.

Please apply Magic (numbing) cream 1 hour before the appointment for blood test (for children over 1 year). Use film wrap to keep this in place. Instructions will be in the box. This can be obtained on prescription from the GP or bought from pharmacy.

Darent Valley Hospital's Clinic runs from 9.00-16.00 Monday to Friday.

Queen Mary's Hospital clinic runs on a Monday and a Wednesday from 14.00-16:30 and is only bookable if requested by a consultant, not a GP.
