Bowel Screening is available at Darent Valley Hospital under the NHS bowel cancer screening (BCSP) programme, and as part of the Bowel Cancer Screening Southern Programme Hub.
This important programme aims to identify early signs of disease before symptoms become apparent and when treatment is more likely to be successful. Screening may also pick up pre-cancerous changes.
Screening for bowel cancer is offered every two years to men and women aged 60-74 years (inclusive) using a faecal occult blood test. People aged 75 years and above can request screening by telephoning the Freephone helpline 0800 707 60 60.
