The department forms part of the Kent and Medway gynaecological oncology group, a gynaecological oncology unit. It provides the full range of gynaecology, diagnostic procedures and complies with the Governments 2 week wait.
Some gynaecology oncology surgery takes places at Darent Valley Hospital but more cases are referred to Maidstone oncology centre.
The multi disciplinary team meetings occur on a Friday morning and the use of video conferencing allows a linking up with the cancer centre.
Gynaecology oncology is supported by a Nurse Specialist.
