Darent Valley Hospital has both an Intensive Therapy Unit (ITU) / High Dependency Unit (HDU). These are special ward providing intensive care (treatment and monitoring) for people who are in a critically ill or unstable condition. The units are multidisciplinary, admitting the more complicated elective surgical patients and all general, medical and surgical patients requiring intensive or high dependency care.

ITU/HDU can be daunting
